Beowulf Themes

The Anglo-Saxon epic Beowulf is an important piece of literature. The epic tells the story of a hero, named Beowulf, who fights monsters such as the monster Grendel, a descendent of Cain, Grendels mother, and a Dragon. Beowulf is considered a hero in his times because he has a lot of courage and pride. There are many different themes in this story such as death, war, and fame.

          First, during the time of Beowulf’s life, death is a very big issue. ...
