History of the Guitar
The guitar, who’s roots are in Spain, cannot be traced any further than the 15th century. The guitar was probably invented by the people of Malaga. ... During the renaissance the guitar was not taken as a serious instrument and didn’t get the credit it deserved. Soon, however the guitar started to get many publications and people started to get interested. ... There were three possibilities in tuning the fifth string, a low “A” as it is today, a low “A” For the second part of the course plus an octave; and both strings tuned to an “A” an octave higher than the modern guitar.
