Letter to Author --- Barbara Kingsolver - Pigs in Heaven
Dear Mrs. Kingsolver, When I had first picked up your book in the bookstore, the title did not appeal to me at all. I was looking for a book, and I had thought Pigs in Heaven was a silly title. It made me think of a book filled with Native American customs that I probably would have learned when I was in elementary school. But as I stood while reading the first few pages, I found it interesting how you described Alice's life. It seemed so meaningless, but at the same time, she was still a queen. Many things depended on her existence, but she could have been doing much more with her life. It made me wonder if I was also a queen of nothing.
