10 things I learned form my home church

I grew up in downtown Detroit and attended Messiah church, a nondenominational church about ten minutes away from my house. I am very found of my church and feel that I am very fortunate to have grown up there. Growing up my church has taught me a great number of things; the first thing that came to my mind was humility. Messiah church is a very humble church, a humble building filled with humble people. My pastor says that “a truly humble man is never personally offended, only offended by things that offend the Spirit”. I have seen so many great examples of people working humbly in “no glory ministries”, with the homeless and sick. Along with humility, my church has taught me about acceptance. ... Sense I have branched out to other churches I have noticed just how big of an issue acceptance is. I am truly thankful to have grown up with such a rich and diverse church family.
