Positioned center stage, waiting for the curtains to rise, and the music to start stands an uneasy dancer. The moment she's been waiting for and working for all her life. Waking up early on weekends to practice, practicing everyday during the week; it's never-ending. So many thoughts are going through her head, hoping that everything goes well. That’s what "Center Stage" is basically about. Young and talented dance students who are striving to become professionally known. Time, dedication, sweat, tears, blood, and blisters; it’s everything that goes with becoming a dancer. This is everything that attracts me to a movie. A variety of qualities may draw a person to something or someone. In this case it is a movie, and it’s my favorite. It has everything a movie should contain. Suspense, art, drama, and romance are just a few of the characteristics in "Center Stage" that caught my eye. This movie shows the realism of a dancer's life in the big city. How they live on their own, and learn from the mistakes they make. It truly shows how people are, and how they learn to connect with one another. In "Center Stage" there are two characters in the movie that I'm able to relate to, Jody and Maureen.
