In the song "I Hope You Dance," by Leanne Womack, the speaker uses figurative language and symbol to convey the theme that when life hands people choices they should choose happiness.
There are many different ways that figurative language is used in the song. ... These examples of metaphore are effective within the lyrics of the song because they take the listener/reader into depth and allow them to think with more of an open mind and a lot of it is for the reader to imagin themselves and put their lives into the song.
