Critical Listening Skills Essay Poem relates to everyone’s life in a different way. Mr. Keating gives the speech to his English class about the structures of the poetry and what the poetry is all about. The purpose of this speech is to motivate the students to read poem. The name of the movie this speech came from is, The Dead Poet Society. The name of the character that is making the speech is Mr. Keating. The audience during this time is all the students in his English class. The speech was effective because it really pulls the mind of the audience and motivates them to become more interested about the poetry. While Mr. Keating asks one of the student to read information about the poetry, he starts thinking very hard and becomes curious in all of a sudden which he gets up from his chair and starts drawing the structures of poetry as the student is reading in his pace. That action of Mr. Keating really interests the students even more in which they all start taking notes about it from the black board.
