These people our natives; they helped me on my journey. They helped me build shelter; they showed me how to hunt. These natives help the English survive. The Indians gave the colonists land to grow crops and to make clothes for the winter. Colonists and the natives were friends at first but ended up as enemies. The colonists killed and took land from the Indians. If an Indian adapted to the colonists life styles, they would be accepted into the community as a second-class citizens.
