HEALTH This proposal sites the mast and base station 25 metres from the bedrooms of children and there is a body of international evidence linking the emissions to cancer in a similar way to overhead power lines. My children should not be subjected to this sort of potential risk to their health. Claire’s Court school, as well as many of my children’s school friends live within 500 metres of the proposed mast, a distance that many European countries would use as the closest a residential building could come to a mast or base station. Many professionals from Lord Schiemann to Sir William Stewart have aired the concerns of us all on health and safety and it makes no sense to site this potential hazard so close to homes when locations such as the Boulter’s Lock Car Park and ground surrounding the gravel pit have not even been considered.
