a tale of two cities

Critics have stated copious different opinions in response to A Tale of Two Cities. One critic said that it was “ a whole-hearted sympathy with the revolutionaries”. I must say that I agree with this statement. The book was mainly about The French Revolution, but I believe that some of the sub-story lines were very whole-hearted. The love affair between Dr. Manettes’ daughter, Lucie Manette and Charles Darnay was extraordinarily whimsical. The arduous, ambiguous times that they went through together made those two characters very audacious in the eyes of the reader. The book was mainly about a crazed bloodbath in France, but I believe that the things that led up to this event and the things that would take place during this were what made it a sympathy.
