Quest for Humanity
The movie Bicentennial Man follows in the 200 year journey of a robot, Andrew,
in become a human being. It begins with the arrival of a robot in the Martin household and
travels down the long path of changes that Andrew encounters on his way to humanity. ... Through the years, Andrew gains new insight into
humanity which eventually leads him to question his own values and motives. ... As Porsha grows older he tells
her that she will not take his treatments and transplants forever to keep he alive because
she does not want to mess with the order of humanity. ... He states that as a robot he would live forever, but he would
rather die a man than live for all of eternity as a machine. ... After review, the World
Congress recognizes Andrew as the oldest living human being, 200 years old, permits him
to marry Porsha, and acknowledges his humanity. ... This is Andrews end to a lifelong journey in his search for
his humanity. ... Andrew you can say was a
synthetic man made human and came as close to human as probably possible, but you
cannot turn metal into bone and flesh no matter how hard on tries.
