This essay is mostly based around the media coverage of Eminem and his court cases. ... I did surveys on this concept and discovered that nearly everyone knew who Eminem was, I think this was because all of the media coverage he gets about his so called “controversial lyrics”. ... In my survey several faces of hip hop/rap artists were pictured and I asked people of all different ages and people from both genders to identify them. ... A printout is attached, Eminem was the most recognized with 96% of the people surveyed recognizing him Tupac followed with 76% of people recognizing him the others were less recognized with Big Pun[isher] being the least recognized with only 16% of people recognizing him. ... Every era has some musician causing a controversy; from Frank Sinatra to people like Alice Cooper there has always been someone that parents don’t agree with.
