I chose this article because the mind has always interested me, and I’m always open to learning more about it. Schizophrenia causes “what surely must be the worst affliction a sentient, conscious being can suffer: the inability to tell what is real from what is imaginary.” Around 2.5 million people in America have the disease, but there are still others are asking the question, “How can the voices sound so real?” Schizophrenia is a mystery to many doctors and scientists. They have yet to understand fully the cause of it, and the cure, sadly, seems to be far away from discovery. The article is trying to teach the reader more about the mysterious disease that many know little about.
