From the beginning of the development of genetic engineering, humanity has
been provided with many problems, benefits and abuses.
Unfortunately, genetic engineering has numerous downfalls towards the
science itself and the society. ...
Nonetheless, genetic engineering provides many advantages to human health. ...
The cloning of Dolly (again, referring to Ross’ article) has given researchers the
opportunity to discover beneficial information to the field of genetic engineering.
They can “not manufacture copies of animals without the original genetic blueprint
eventually wearing out” and Ian Wilmut, the person who was in charge of the group
who created Dolly stated, “She made biologists think totally differently about the way
cells develop for all the different tissues.”
What is dreadful is the fact that genetic engineering is a form of abuse, which
can lead to different forms of abuse towards women. In Follett’s novel (as it can be
done in real life today), each woman who was carrying a baby in their womb was
unaware that it may not be their real child because they were each told that they
were receiving hormonal treatment (all at the same clinic). ...
Genetic engineering has come far since it began, yet it remains a controversial
topic for many individuals due to the various forms of problems, benefits and abuses.
