The gay community in our society may be increasing, however the decision for letting gay couples get married is some what decreasing. When looking at giving gay couples the right to get married, many look at Section one of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and see that it says "guarentees the rights and freedoms set out". Then they assume that being gay and having the right to get married to their same sex spoce, is allowed. However, what they do not realize is these rights and freedoms are only allowed based on their good to society and according to the government, same sex marriages is not "a good to society". Albertas provincial government has made their decision that they will not allow gay marriage ceremonies occur in thier province. ... Overturning gay marriages is something that they feel is very important and as well something that they feel should never occur in their presence.
As any on going conflicts, the issue of same sex marriages has two seperate sides which are taken by people with different opinions.
