Do you know what the future has in store for you? Well, the inspirational film Gattaca does present an interesting offer. As the audience of a dramatic work of science fiction, we are introduced to a world of complete bias in which being born naturally deprives one of the many opportunities in life. We are taken on an "emotional roller coaster" through the eyes of the God-child, Vincent Freeman, played by Ethan Hawke. Although some extra acting lessons would not hurt the man, the character he plays overcomes the poor performance. Vincent is the black sheep, living in a world of genetically engineered people. He is held back by the strings of society his entire life, but reaches a point in which he realizes he can only help himself achieve his dreams. “Consider God’s handiwork, who can straighten what He hath made crooked.” Well, Vincent attempts to straighten his crooked fate.
