When I was fifteen years old, my entire perspective of both my parents was changed within a five or 10 minute incident. This was possible when one just finishes eating an after-school snack (a bowl of cereal) and both parents walk into the kitchen with serious looks on their faces and were looking directly at me. The two or three seconds before they talked to me while I was taking my bowl to the sink was one of the most nervous moments of my life. Being a freshmen in high school and always wondering if the parents would ever learn of me skipping history class on occasion, makes one especially nervous when they both enter the room Ifm in at the same time and with the same serious look on their faces. As if they had just finished discussing it over the phone with my teacher. Next, my father said he would like to talk to me about probably the one thing worse than getting in trouble at school.
