Aldous Huxley Aldous Huxley was born on July 26th, 1894 in Godalming near London into a family that include some of the most distinguished members of that part of the English running class made up of the intellectual elite. His grandfather was Thomas Henry Huxley a famous biologist who helped develop the theory of evolution. His mother belongs to a family of poets and novelists. She died from cancer when Aldous was 14. Even as a small child he was considered different, showing an alertness, an intelligence and a superiority. When he was 16 and a student at Eton, an eye illness made him nearly blind. He recovered enough vision to go to Oxford University and graduate with honours but not enough to fight in World War 1 or to do the scientific work he had dreamed of. He entered the literary world while he was at Oxford and published his first book "The burning wheel", a collection of poems, in 1916. After his studies he wrote for some newspapers to earn some money. He married Maria Nys, a Belgian, in 1919. Their only child Mathew was born one year later, in 1920. The family divided their time between London and Europe, mostly Italy, in the 1920s, and travelled around the world in 1925 and 1926, seeing India and making a first visit to the United States. Huxley wrote his famous book "Brave New World" in four month in 1931. About "brave New World": In After Ford 632, this is 632 years after Ford has released the first T-Ford ( year 2535 in our world), there is a World Society. People are made in bottles and conditioned to do predestinated work.
