To be single is to stand-alone. One shadow cast beneath your feet and nothing but a bleak surface to accompany its companionless existence. In time I will learn that there is no importance to my lonely shadow, especially at such a naive and inexperienced age. But until sandy seconds gather into a dune of wisdom I will only know that I am alone. The pressures of social expectation surround my life. It is sickening to witness how tainted ones mind becomes due to the effect social significance. I have seen it with my own eyes- So many people willing to make physical and personal sacrifices in the name of “love”. Cosmetic Surgery is at it’s peak of public interest, the fashion industry is making millions off of name brand clothing, and they media has created a world of materialistic needs to be the hip kid on the block. And apparently from all of this, one can capture the attention from their most desired admirer. But how can any person of my age actually know what love is? And why has it become such a hyped issue?
