The day I graduated high school was a crazy day. I woke up early around 7:00 a.m. and started getting ready. I was very nervous but excited at the same time. The clothes I had picked out were not to fancy but looked god. I didn’t really think it was that big of a deal anyway since we would be covered up in our caps and gowns anyway. I got to Meridian almost an hour early. Sitting at home was not an option for me since I was so excited. I got in my truck and drove around for about 30 minutes before I ended up going and waiting at the school. I thought about how that would be my last drive to Meridian High School as a student. Only one other person was at the school when I got there and that was Rebecca Conant. Her and I sat there in the parking lot for about an hour just talking about all the things we did in high school and how we were excited about getting out but would miss it at the same time. Once a few more people showed up we all went inside and made sure we were ready. We all made sure all our shirts were buttoned up straight and everyone looked nice. Before we went into the gym to take our seats we took our individual pictures. I was trying my hardest not to get anything on my cap and gown because they were all white. They didn’t really appeal to my friends or me since we looked like the KKK. The time slowly came around and it was time to walk into the gym and take our seats. As usual the gym was boiling hot and everyone was waving their hands trying to stay cool in the hot and humid place. Once everyone had walked in and took their seat we had to wait another 15 minutes before the actual ceremony started. Throughout that time everyone just talked and reminisced on past times. People talked about crazy things they did their senior year like climbing on top of the building to get a hacky sack. Another time one guy climbed out one of the windows next to the courtyard and bought everyone sodas since they had locked the door that day. Aaron Britton was they guy who did both of them activities. After lunch almost everyday a group including some friends and me would go outside in the courtyard and play hacky sack. It’s the game where you kick the little ball around trying to keep it in the air without using your hands. Like every other day we were outside playing but people seemed to be more aggressive and into it than usual. We played for about 10 minutes until one of my friends kicked in all the way on top of the roof.
