	A NEW LAND
	A New Land My name is Victor Confino from Kastoria. My family and I just arrived in Ellis Island to start a new life. I am 16 years old, the oldest of 10 siblings. My father counts on me to watch over all of them, which is a lot to ask of a 16 year old. The biggest problem is finding housing for a reasonable price. We decided on a tenement on 97 Orchard Street in New York City. I was looking forward to this new land of opportunity. The housing we decided on had 1 month free rent which helped out our financial situation. There are twenty-two apartments in the house. You can imagine how crowded it is. Approximate Word count = 475 Approximate Pages = 1.9 (250 words per page double spaced)
