Most people complain that they do not know enough about the candidates running for elected offices. From the local government to the federal government, candidates barrage the public with expensive, boring, and annoying campaign commercials which in the final analysis leave us confused. There are three main causes for this problem. First we, as a nation, need to do our own research on the candidates. Second, is that political figures are not always forthcoming, and third, our reliance on the press and visual media has left us victims of their interpretation, which is not necessarily the truth. We the American people are responsible for our lack of information about our public officials. We have become so incredibly lazy that we rarely go to the library or go onto the internet and research the candidates for public offices.
