Academic success is an attribute that is hard to acquire without some type of method. Weiten describes methods which have been observed and studied by psychologists that help improve academic performance. Some of these methods include ways to improve study habits, reading skills, attaining more from lectures, and improving test-taking strategies. Many of these methods and suggestions are agreeable, while a few are not so agreeable. One factor that can improve academic performance is having good study habits, and the method that these habits use. If you organize your study habits it may be an advantage. I find that studying in the order that my classes occur to be beneficial. This relates to Siebert’s suggestion of setting up a schedule for studying. Siebert states that it is important to have definite times to study.
