There are many challenges that face a teen in modern society which can cause much anxiety or stress. Much pressure is put on a teen by both peers and authority figures, to fit in and perform well in school and other activities. Pressure caused by authority figures to do well in things such as school presents a very difficult challenge to many teens. Adult figures such as parents have expectations of what some students should achieve in school or in extracurricular activities such as sports. However, these expectations are sometimes above the limit a student has set for himself/herself mentally. Even though it is not impossible to do better it becomes very difficult when a student has set low expectations or limits to his/her achievements.
