Perhaps you should look into a thesis that pertains to this information and the context that it exists in. Think about the First Great Awakening, which is alluded to by the reference to Jonathon Edwards. Will- preference. Also keep in mind that Bartleby may be a civil disobedience figure, one who represents the failure of society by his tragic fate. And remember, the story is about Bartleby, right, or is it? It has more to do with the nature of the narrator.
