5 Most Important Scenes 1. Nick Meeting Mr. Gatsby This meeting takes place at one of Mr. Jay Gatsby’s parties. Nick being new to the neighborhood and new to the party atmosphere did not know who Mr. Gatsby was, even though he was attending his party by invitation. The two met by striking up a conversation as complete strangers then introducing themselves. From then on they were friends hanging out around town and dining together on occasion. 2. Mr. Buchanan & Mr. Gatsby’s Argument In this point in the book Mr. Tom Buchanan is fully aware of a relationship between his wife, Daisy, and Mr. Gatsby. Tom knows something is going on but he doesn’t know the facts, so he is inspired to ask questions.
