A selfless act. When I was first handed this paper proposal, I automatically thought of the selfless act Jesus performed for us. Thinking outside the box, I decided to focus in on what the text really means to the Hindu culture and try not to apply it to my explicitly life. Arjuna is selfless because he does not want to kill his family, but he has to fulfill his destiny. Building off this selfless act, I am going to explore the meaning behind this principle of selfless acts and using The Bhagavad-Gita will find the answers through the ancient Hindu culture. The key ideas that Krishna uses to explain the concept of selfless action to Arjuna is in the following passage: “…all these warriors arrayed in hostile ranks will cease to exist, Therefore, arise and win glory! Conquer your foes and fulfill your kingship! They are already killed by me. Be just my instrument, the archer at my side!…you will conquer your foes in battle!” (104).
