ark 4 Throughout chapter four, Mark speaks upon Jesus and how he taught people through his parables, which are short stories told to teach a lesson. Jesus teaches his followers to have faith in whatever you do. In the Parable of the Sower, Jesus teaches that in order for a seed to grow and prosper it must be properly looked after and it must be cultivated in rich soil. Jesus is stressing the importance of living a good life and keeping yourself in the proper environment in order to do so. Jesus goes on to explain the purpose behind his parables, which was to answer the questions of those who had doubted him in the past. A seed that grows itself has trouble growing, therefore with the help of man, it can grow properly, similar to Jesus helping others to follow the path of the Lord. Mark 5 In chapter five, Jesus goes on to begin his mission in helping people believe in the power and reality of God. Jesus heals the Gerasene Demoniac, who had been cursed with the unclean spirit for quite a while. The man had been a nuisance throughout the town and could not be controlled. Therefore the Lord had cleansed him, and in return the man went on to preach the Lord’s good news. Jesus then went on to cure Jairus’s daughter who was inflicted with a hemorrhage for twelve years and was at the point of death. Mark 6 Jesus moved on and arrived in Nazareth. The people of Nazareth had already heard of his other deeds, but instead of finding their faith they rejected him and prevented him from healing any of their fellow men or women. Jesus proceeded to move on and instructed the 12 disciples to go about and cure those of unclean spirits. As they went off, Jesus instructed them not to bring any food or and necessities, and concluded by saying that He and him alone would provide them with all they need.
