I have chosen to write my essay on the topic of abortion, in which I am against. The reason why I think abortion is morally wrong is because it is ending the life of an innocent human being who has intrinsic worth and it is going against my religious beliefs that god is the only one with the right to end a human beings life.
Don Marquis sets out to show “that abortion is, except possibly in rare cases, seriously immoral” and that it is in the same moral category as killing an innocent adult human being. ... ”
Some believe that even though there may be life, or potential life, or however one wants to refer to a fetus, that by denying a woman the right to an abortion is denying her control of her body. ... Judith Jarvis Thomas argues, “Abortion is not necessarily wrong”. ... Trying to justify abortion by arguing that the unborn does not have this right is a form of discrimination based on age and the fact that they cannot speak for themselves.
Some will say that abortion is not a matter of life and death, arguing that a fetus is not a "person", or a "human being".
