Math Portfolio Summary of Unit: In this unit of math we questioned is the honeycomb an efficient shape for storing honey? Not only that but what is the most efficient shape for certain situations. We dealt with many shapes such as circles, triangles, pentagons and etc. There are many different ways of finding the area to a two dimensional object. It all depends on the object. The area of an object is the part within the perimeter. For a basic rectangle you multiply base by height. 6 ft 4 ft 6 x 4 = 24ft For a right triangle you would multiply base times height and divide that by two 6ft 3 ft 6 x 3 = 18/2 = 9ft Perimeter is the length around an object. In order to find perimeter you add all the sides of an object together.
