Chantal Otto Assignment #3 9/15/03 V. Bott Every time I read Sven Birkert’s “The Owl has Flown” I lean more and more towards the idea that Birkert is very much in fear of the direction in which technology is guiding us. Birkert is entirely dedicated to the idea that books are superior to the new types of technology. Although Birkert holds some extremely beautiful thoughts, I can’t help but find reluctance getting past his bias against technology. Sometimes it seems like Birkert thinks the whole entire human race is just a bunch of lazy cows.
