     I remember when I was younger sitting behind my first PC and logging onto AOL for the first time, I was 12 years old and I thought it was the best thing in the world. ... Broadband is growing in leaps and bounds. In June 2000 where only 6 million people had broadband, now over 35 millions Americans currently use broadband in there households. Broadband alone is bringing the telecommunications industry back up from its current slump and stimulating the economy. In a field where most companies are downsizing, broadband ISP’s are growin at a rapid rate. Every month tens of thousands of people convert from dial-up to broadband.
     The first users of broadband were typically early technology adopters, usually wealthy, educated, and male. Not long after that when the price came down because of major competition, people of all gender, race, and economic backround have adopted broadband as there highway to the internet. Broadband has caught on much faster than originally predicted and seems to have no end in sight. ... There are even internet cafes where you can rent a PC with a broadband backbone.
Broadband technology took 4 years to reach the critical mass of 10% adoption by our society. ... Broadband is on pace to become the most quickly adopted technology of our time. ...
