Introduction The basis of L.O.2 is to select CAD systems for particular applications. This will be based on two short case studies, which are presented below. A report must be written outlining the CAD systems selected. (a) The needs and budget (£5000) of a small drawing office with less than five draughtspersons involved a limited range of work. (b) The needs and budget (£150 000) of a large company with 2 drawing offices. Over 20 draughtspersons are involved in a wide range of work carried out over a networked system. Report (a) The computer systems I have chosen to buy for this office are four budget systems at around five hundred pounds each unfortunately these systems do not come with the software required but do come with the appropriate hardware for example mouse, keyboard, 15” monitor .etc I would also buy another top of the range system for the final drawings to be produced on and will cost around seven hundred pounds but the downsides would be that I would have to buy a monitor, which would cost me about another three hundred on top of that and again this does not include the software needed but this amount of money will get a 19” monitor which can be very useful in a drawing office.
