Every child, no matter age or background, has a role model. This role model can be a positive or a negative influence. As for in the Odyssey, Telemachus’s role model was his father, Odysseus. I believe that they had a special situation where Telemachus never knew his father, yet he was devoted to someday find him. I believe that Odysseus was a good role model, but at the same time, he also showed bad morals. ...
First off, Homer was away from Telemachus for the first twenty years of his life. Throughout that entire time, Telemachus had no role model and nobody to look up to. Due to his father’s actions, I believe this is a negative influence because Telemachus had no examples to follow and never knew what was right from wrong.
