Charles and Ray Eames Charles and Ray Eameses’ work involve an assortment of sculpturesque, smooth, flowing works that evoke the imagination, while combining functionality. It was a revolution of form, an exciting visual language that signalled a new age and a fresh start. Their furniture pieces were lean, modern, sleekly sophisticated, simple yet beautifully. The Eameses’ work can be analysed using the subjective framework, their works combine a variety of features that shape a personal and psychological experience. The Eameses’ works conveyed an emotional experience by creating a presence of a connection between themselves and audience. The artist aims to create a resonance or a reminder of something within the audience’s eyes, allowing this to be a universal experience – as this can be emotionally sensed by all of the viewers perceiving it. They had ideas about making a better world, one in which things were designed to fulfil the practical needs of ordinary people and bring greater simplicity and pleasure to our lives.
