What is a nation-state? A nation state is defined as states whose population shows a sense of national identity, a common language and culture. To further break it down, a nation is described as people who share a sense of national identity, a common language and common culture. A state is an inhibited territory controlled by a government-exercised sovereignty over its territory and its people. Within a nation-state there are several Non-State actors. These include Sub-State actors, which are groups and interest within a state that influences foreign policy such as labor unions and political parties. ... All four of these non-state actors have an affect on a nation-states economy and prosperity.
