Č Introduction
Ansett Airlines is the second largest flight company in Australia, with a workforce of 16,000 and assets of around $1 billion. ... Firstly, I will ¡§use the collapse of Ansett as a basis for thinking about how the dissolution of any large corporation might impact on the macroeconomy.¡¨ I will consider Ansett as any ¡§large corporation¡¨ rather than looking into the flight business specifically. Secondly, no intervention from the government or any prospective buyers during the collapse, otherwise, the company might be salvaged. Thirdly, it is assumed that the economy was in equilibrium before the collapse.
Č Analysis
As the collapse of Ansett, the most obvious consequences are the 16,000 unemployed which will clearly increase the unemployment rate, and a disappearance of further investment in Ansett.
