Texas Population Growth and Increased Urbanization

What are the problems that population growth and increased urbanization present for the political system in Texas? Given the state’s dominant political culture, how do you believe Texas will deal with these Problems?

The rapid increase in population and urbanization could generate some very serious problems of pollution, water supply, and cultural conflict. To be more specific, such problems as congestion, crime, a rise in gang warfare, unemployment, drug abuse, and inadequate health care could have a large effect on Texas political system. Texas must be ready to face these problems, as they are appearing faster than predicted.
In all reality (Texas reality), Texas will probably turn to the economy first before asking for government help. The traditional Texas attitude is that if government is kept small enough and taxes are low enough, then things will follow their beneficial natural course and all will be well.
