I did not know there were place so beautiful and amazing as the Crystal Cathedral and Big Bear Mountain. Some times one is so use to the same routine that we don’t even know that there is different and pleasant place to go for distraction. Three years ago my parents and I decided to go to the Crystal Cathedral after we saw it almost all days from the freeway. As its mane says, the church is made out of crystals. Pieces of glass of about 1ft wide and 2 ft long were assemble to make a building that from the outside looks like a giant mirror. The sides of the church form triangles; the two lateral sides are longer than the other two sides (front and back). From the ground it’s hard to tell what the shape does the church have. At first I thought it was a flying bird, but later I discovered that view from the top, the building has the shape of the start that guided the three kings to the birthplace of baby Jesus. Ones inside the building, one can see how the glasses are hold together by white tubes of different sides that are perfectly arrange in a way that they form small triangles that combine with the triangular start architecture of the cathedral. The sits are made of wood with very comfortable light blue cushions, which to my opinion that is not a good feature because people are easily tempt to fall to sleep. The altar is about two meters high and it’s made of burgundy color marble. But probably the most impressing about the altar is the enormous musical organ, which is said to be the biggest one in the United States; when it is play the sound that comes out of it is so angelic and dazzling that it must be similar to heavenly music. Thing I liked the most about the Crystal Cathedral the first time I visit it was its gardens. The grass was green and so smoothly cut that from far it seemed like a carpet. The flowers were beautiful and colorful: they created a rainbow that welcomed the visitors.
