SWOT and inventory
When asked to pick a technology that has affected my life I became quite perplexed, I mean, yes the computer has changed me, but so did the TV, and Phones, and the internet…. And and and, I could go on forever because there is endless technologies that are out there, many that we all take for granted on a daily basis. And looking at this last century even though I was only present for about 20% of it there were some really significant events that took place. Atomic energy for instance, we learned that we can split an atom in two with a byproduct of an immense amount of energy, and we have harnessed this power and used it to propel navy ships across the ocean, provide light in millions of homes across the world. And of course in 1945 we used it to kill thousands of Japanese in a blink of an eye. But that wouldn’t have been capable of happening unless we could fly, and so what about the technology that is involved in flight? Thanks to Orville and Wilber, in 1903 there we went in to the skies. The ability to fly from one side of the country to the other has been a great contributor to my life in that I have been one of those people that HAD to be there and I had to be there NOW, but still not that big of a contributor to my life. But really could these things or many other daily activities even take place if we hadn’t figured out the concept of electricity? I didn’t say invent electricity because it’s been here for as long as we can comprehend, that would be like saying “I invented Water!” Electricity is a form of energy, a phenomenon that is a result of the existence of electrical charge.
