Hong Kong is a very congested city. There are lots of pedestrians and vehicles on the street. Sometimes, people who are in a rush risk their lives for jay-walking. But after I witnessed an accident several years ago while crossing the road, I now remind myself to be more careful. It was a rainy and windy day and the sky was gloomy. I was on my way to school. It was about eight in the morning, and the street was very crowded. People hurried across the road because of the heavy downpours. There was a traffic jam and the cars nearly stopped moving. I walked impatiently. All of the sudden, I saw a little school boy who was reciting the multiplication table on his way to school. I stopped on the kerb as the traffic light turned red. The boy was too preoccupied with his reciting, he did not look before he crossed the road. At the same instant, a truck in front of me moved towards the kid.
