Introduction: What is meant by abortion? Abortion is defined in the dictionary as, “the expulsion of a fetus from the womb before it is able to survive independently.” This simply means that the fetus is removed by either a natural or medical procedure before the time of the natural birth would have occurred, before the fetus can support it’s own life. According to the book life it self: “Abortion takes the life of over 4,000 innocent children each day. That is one child every 20 seconds, 3 children every minute and over 1 million children each year.” Today I will argue that abortion is illegitimate and unjust in all instances but when the mother’s life is at sake. There are a lot of different ways that abortions could be done, some legal and some illegal. Now I will explain how each one will kill the baby and takes the pieces out. Sharp curettage, suction aspiration, saline injection and dilation and extraction are some of the common methods of abortion. Transition: now that I gave you some background of abortion I will talk about why abortion is immoral and unjust. I. Biological argument A. Life begins at the moment of conception and taking a life is unlawful. 1. The moment of conception starts when the two sex cells join and the genetic information will be gathered in the zygote, which is a unique human being.
