Recalling an experience.. I can still recall as though it were yesterday. My cousin Bob came home from work with a boat on the back of his van, tied with a rope to the trailer on each end of the frame. It was an aluminum fishing boat, about twelve feet long. A small front deck and three bench seats spanned the width of plywood and ribs. I was very eager to buy a boat at that time so I can use it to fish in the Wolf river where our cabin is located but, it wasn’t much of a boat at that time. It needed paint badly, and the transom was so dry rotted you could easily push a screwdriver all the way through it. But, it was a boat. So I asked him, “Where did you get this boat, Bob?” and he said, “ I knew you wanted a boat, my friend at work gave it to me so I hauled it home to give it to you”. I never found out just where his friend got this boat, whether he bought it or whether it was given to him – but it did not matter. It was a boat and it was mine!
