Personal Statement By going to college, I have already broken the curse of every Orozco yet. I am the first in my family to continue my education directly after high school. To me, this accomplishment is the first step in a new direction that hopefully all the future Orozcos will follow on. The path through school and my everlasting goal of a college degree was given to me as almost a natural instinct since I was only a small child. I’ve worked my share of dead end, minimum wage-paying jobs that don’t satisfy my slender wallet, and especially my searching soul. Call me a dreamer, but the things in life I want don’t come cheap, and some day I’ll get them all! I can barely afford to take two classes and still make my rent on time. Sacrificing days of work for school is hard to do, but the decision to take as many classes as I can afford is a no-brainer.
