The German government printing notes to pay the striking workers, and as a result caused hyper –inflation in a Germany which had already been suffering from inflation. ... On November 8th 1923, Hitler and the Nazis decided it was time for their own coup and thus staged the unsuccessful Munich Putsch which nevertheless increased the Nazi profile and standing in Weimar politics. It was not only Hitler, but many Germans who were feeling increasingly anti –democratic. Despite, Ebert’s efforts to stabilise the currency by introducing the new Rentenmark many weren’t able to forget the crisis of 1923, “The stabilisation of the currency turned Germany into a country of high prices, low wages and a fair amount of unemployment” Because of the economic problems, Germans began to support more extremist parties.
