FA 1080 9:00-9:50 1 Kyle Pearce. The artist that I have chosen to do my report on is Kyle Pearce. To start off a little about him he was the son of world famous metal sculptor Oscar Pumpin who is know for use of neon lights in his artwork. As Kyle grew up in the state of New York, as a young boy, he learned to cut, welds, and bend steel as a boy. Along side of his father no less. Soon after learning the trades of his father he became a master craftsmen him self and he began creating his very own award winning works of art. Turning used automotive parts in to totally new and somewhat abstract works of art. Things such as: Chrome automobile bumpers, hoods, doors, fenders making all of these mostly useless trashed parts into beautiful works of art. 2 Michael Sullivan He is art is in the functionalist and sculpture, as I was going though seeing some of his work they just stood out at me I don’t know why but they did. He grew up in the small southern town of Mobile, Alabama. He stated to a reporter once that it was in the 1950’s that he had a chance to make his dreams come true and part of that dream was to be able to change the world in some little way and he figured out how at the age of ten.
