Egyptian Medicine

Medicine has come a long way from sorcery of wizards to surgery of our people today. Before Alexander Fleming discovered Penicillin there were Primitive human beings who struggled for food, shelter, and tools. The Greeks who discovered the causes of diseases and disorders, learned how to record data and help eliminate superstitions. Their homegrown hero Hypocrates is known today as the “Father of Medicine”. The Romans originated medical care and provided sanitation for all patients. Though before the Romans, and the Greeks, who invented the art of splinting? This was brought to medicine by the Egyptians. The Egyptians used herbs and plants for medicines such as Digitalis which comes from the Fox Glove plant and is used to strengthen and slow the heartbeat.
