Nowadays very substantial changes are taking place in the global environment, like desertification, rapid destruction of tropical forests, air and water pollution, acid rains, thinning of the ozone layer, global warming, caused by greenhouse effect, and even more. They all are very important and I am interested in them, but it would took too much time to talk about everything, so as I mentioned, I will speak about one of the most important things which keep our planet alive - water.
Recent UN report claims that water - not oil, gold or precious stones will be the next cause over which nations will go to war. Fresh water, once thought of as a seemingly inexhaustible resource, is now becoming scarce in many regions of the world. The worldwide water use had doubled between 1950 and 1990.
