During the past years at Culver, caffeine has been an issue brought up by students, faculty, staff and parents. In 2002 the dining hall stopped serving drinks containing caffeine, for many people it seemed that from one day to another the school suddenly decided that caffeine’s “pro’s” fell well under its “con’s”. Some people argued that if caffeine was bad for you, then why was coffee still available. Others believed that it was a financial issue considering that the bookstore began selling caffeine drinks once they weren’t obtainable in the dining hall.
