Immigrations

present. The historical debate: should immigration be restricted, has been a nation wide issue for a number of years. Different people studying and observing the immigration phenomenon do not always see the same thing-they receive different impressions from it (Warne 32). Numerous people think that allowing Immigrants to come the U.S. is a threat. Also, they believe that immigration will eventually lead to the fall of our country ( Johnson 37). Nine times out of ten a person that you meet is the descendent of an immigrant (Encarta 97). But some people think that the U.S. should discourage and restrict immigration. But regardless of people’s opinion, immigration has stayed consistent in America. For example, the Dominicans and Jamaicans came to the U.S., in the 1900’s, because of over population (Bookshelf 96-97). Around the same time the Jews came to America in a flee, from religious persecution (Bookshelf 96-97). In the early 1900’s, eastern Europeans came and took away jobs (Warne 31). Immigration is a great thing for the United States. The Irish came to America because most of them lost their life supply (Encarta 97).They had a failure in the corps. So this led to a migration to the U.S. in the 1840’s. The Danes came to America in the 1870’s because of poverty. The Poles came in the 1880’s through the 1920’s because of political repression and poverty. The Austrians came in the 1880’s through the 1920’s due to poverty overpopulation as well as the Italians. In the year of 1910 through 1920 the Mexicans came due to low wages and the Mexican Revolution. In the 1960’s through the 1980’s the Cubans came because their government had a Communist take over as well as the Vietnamese in 1970’s. The right of man to emigrate from one country to another, is on which belongs to him by us own constitution and by every principle of justice (Nichols 18). Lastly the Germans and Jews migration to the U.S. had a major impact on our history. The Germans came to American in the 1840’s through 1850’s. At this time they were have an economic depression. They blamed this on the Jews. This caused the Jews to come to America in 1880 through 1920, in flee of religious persecution. (Encarta 97). After awhile immigration begin to be a little to much for America to handle (Warnne 33). Because of the masses of people moving to America, they had to create laws, restriction, and people started to believe in them (Jasper 157). When immigration became a crisis, the U.S. invented Green Cards, Visas, and restrictions. Garrett Davis argued that immigrants endanger America (25).
